I hate the term politically correct, there is a discussion where some privileged group starts talking about the oppressed group like they are those mystical beings that can’t understand what they say and start excusing every offensive and hurtful thing they say with “I know my opinion is not pc but we need to be honest”.

No, just no. Stop this. It’s like saying I’m entitled to oppressive honesty and you are censuring me if you say otherwise.

I see allistic parents using this, I see nondisabled people using this, I see cis people using this, I see heterosexual people using this, etc. I’m sure white people like me must use it like this.

Last time I saw it’s the discussion of nondisabled parents talking about how hard and lonely it is. Yeah, because we are having a great life as disabled “children”.

They need to be honest and not to worry about being pc but we can’t be honest.

I think a lot of people confuse “political correctness” with “not being a fuckhead.” We don’t avoid slurs and whatnot to be PC; we do it because such words are hurtful.

Whenever people complain about “political correctness” or describe themselves as “politically incorrect,” it’s almost always a good idea to tune them out.
